DIGM Discord Server Logo

The digital media major community at the University of Houston has recently gain lots of traction and with its exponential growth and its foreseeable future, I thought that creating a logo to represent our growing community would be best fitting for many years to come. With new members joining every semester and needing guidance, The logo should be able to let the newcomers recognize that our community is capable of answering or even helping them through their journey in their career, new or experienced.

With the focus on being casual and fun, I decided to go with bright colors that could convey that emotion to people looking at the logo. The logo itself was also created to fit a circular presentation in discord. The issue I had with visualizing what the logo should be was how to make it bold and prominent all while making it not seem intimidating. With the warping to the sans serif I think that it took the formality out of the logo but still keeping its modern feel with its geometric shapes in the font.
