Album Cover

While learning about the various art movements, I found interest in the De Stijl movement and chose that as my movement of focus to learn and try to apply my skills to re-create an album cover that is similar to art from the De Stijl movement style. To further learn about fundamentals and experiment I decided to pick an artist that I saw fit, one that invokes the emotions that the De Stijl movement’s art gave off. The artist I chose was SOPHIE, who’s musical art can abstractly correlate to elements used in De Stijl. In re creating her album in a different style that I wasn’t familiar with I learnt many aspects of representation through shapes and the use of giving negative space form. Using the negative space to work with the positive space. The project helped me by bringing awareness to my creativity and work that will help me improve with my creative outlet.
